The eighth annual Mountain Maryland Plein Air juried exhibition and art competition is sponsored by the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland, Maryland. Our juror, Jason Sacran, is one of the top plein air competition prize winners in the country. Over $11,000 in prize money will be awarded. We have partnered with more local groups this year in an effort to increase our audience; and are adding an optional event at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort. We commit to providing housing to any selected artist who requests it. With a variety of painting options, the areas of Allegany and Garrett County are filled with magnificent mountain vistas, pristine state forests and parks, and historic architecture. In addition you can find rusty industrial settings, an extensive railroad yard and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Only thirty artists will be accepted to participate: enter through Callforentry.org with a deadline of February 14. We hope to see you in Cumberland!
