Artists may paint any day from December 22nd through March 12th, 2020
All MAPAPA painters, we want to show your work to the community! Come paint Baltimore & Ohio
or other railroad sites this winter to capture railroading’s historic romance. Sell your finished product
at our concluding Wet Canvas Exhibit, Sale and Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 13th at the B&O
Railroad Museum. Opportunities abound to paint the beauty of Mid Atlantic railroad facilities,
including the Museum’s unique industrial architecture and outdoor rolling stock.
Artists must be prepared to exhibit finished, framed paintings painted en plein air by 3:00 PM
on Friday March 7th.
At 5 PM the following Saturday (March 13th) there will be a Sale & Reception
until 9 p.m. All artwork must be for sale and will be priced by the artist. Artists are urged to
provide up to three paintings for purchase. A portion of sales will benefit the B&O Museum
(35% to Museum, 65% to artist). Artists must bring easels for display of paintings, including
table easels if appropriate.
....Artists must be MAPAPA members and register in advance.
Participation is limited to 30 artists. Prizes will be awarded.

Former B&O facilities are preferred, but former Pennsylvania RR (now Amtrak or Norfolk Southern) and other non-B&O railroads are allowed. Below is a list of suggested locations.

Artists must bring finished, framed paintings done in plein air to the Museum by 3:00 pm on Saturday March 7. The Sale & Awards Reception will begin the following Friday evening, March 13th.
All artwork must be for sale and will be priced by the artist. Artists are urged to provide three paintings for purchase. All artwork must be signed and labeled with title, artist, and price on back. A portion of sales will benefit the B&O useum (35% to museum, 65% to artist). Artists must bring easels for display of paintings.
