A Special Event at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion

Artists may paint any day from April 29th through August 31st, 2022.
Come to Mount Vernon Place in Baltimore City to capture the neighborhood’s charm and activity. Artists will paint within the boundaries of Mount Vernon Place defined by Madison Street on the north, St. Paul Street on the east, Centre Street on the south, and Cathedral Street on the west. Artists must be prepared to exhibit finished, framed paintings done in plein air by 12:00 noon on Sunday, September 25, 2022. At 1:00 p.m. there will be a Sale & Reception until 4:00 p.m. in the light filled atrium of the Garrett Jacobs Mansion.
All artwork must be for sale and will be priced by the artist. Artists must provide three paintings for purchase.
All art must be framed and wired, and works on paper must be under glass. Artists must complete all three copies of the exhibit tag for each of their three paintings in the show. All artwork must be signed and labeled with title, artist, and price on back. A portion of sales will benefit the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion, Baltimore Heritage and the Mount Vernon Place conservancy (40% to the organizations, 60% to artist). If an artist sells work off their easel during the event dates (April 29 –August 31, 2022) they are expected to pay 40% of their sale to the event sponsors. Artists must bring easels for display of paintings.

April 29th through August 31st artists paint within the Mount Vernon boundaries described above.
(Paintings must be produced in this time frame).
On Sunday, September 25, 2022, artists deliver and set up their paintings at 11W Mount Vernon Place
between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
Artists attend Reception and Sale from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Artists remove any unsold paintings and easels from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mount Vernon Place Plein Air Exhibit organizers will continue to monitor all Covid protocols, and will require masks, vaccinations and social distancing following local regulations.
Artists must be MAPAPA members. Participation is limited to 30 registered artists.
Approximately $ 3,000 in prizes will be awarded at the Reception. Prizes will include a Grand Prize, and a best depiction of the Flower Mart, among others. Grand Prize winners are not eligible for the Grand Prize in consecutive shows.
