Annual Barnstormers Tour and Paint Out
Last year's 5th annual Barnstormer's Tour was a great success! The event is an annual fund-raiser to increase awareness and inspire a passion for the older barns of Frederick County. Five barns around Walkersville and four barns in the Woodsboro area, including one converted to a lovely home, were on the tour. Many interesting farm animals were observed close-up, including long-horned cattle, donkeys, chickens, draft horses, and mules. Docents were stationed at each barn to provide interesting details about each historic structure.

Nearly forty artists from three states painted the barns, and an art show/sale and reception was held after the tour. The art was judged by Pennsylvania artist Mark Brockman. The beautiful paintings done during the day were offered for sale and many were sold!  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of artwork benefits Frederick County Landmarks Foundation.
