MAPAPA 2nd Sunday Paint Out - Urban Landscape - June 9, 2019

Come join Tom to paint beautiful Mt. Vernon neighborhood in Baltimore. One of Baltimore's premiere architecturally diverse neighborhoods. The area has churches, urban mansions, restaurants with outdoor seating, and the cruciform of the park lands at Charles and Monument. Public statues by the 19th century French sculpture Antoine-Louis Barye, fountains, and equestrian statues to Lafayette and others will allow you to focus your eye on urban landscape.

WHERE:  MT VERNON neighborhood in Baltimore - Underneath Baltimore's Washington Monument  (INTERSECTION OF CHARLES STREET AND MONUMENT).  Tom will set up around the "Boy with Turtle" fountain on the west side of the Washington Monument.  Please check in with me upon arrival.

WHEN: June 9, 2019 9am - 12pm

PARKING - Several area parking lots, but also street parking along Charles St., Cathedral, Monument, Madison and other intersecting streets in the neighborhood

BATHROOM INFO:  After 11am - Walters Art Gallery will be available and depending on where you're painting - local restaurants and coffee shops.

OTHER DETAILS - This Second Sunday is for any MAPAPA member who wishes to practice their urban landscape skills  The event is also a "tune up" for the summer of painting in Mt. Vernon hosted by the Baltimore Heritage and the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion.  (See the March-April MAPAPA newsletter).
