Where: Monocacy Battlefield, south of Frederick, MD
When: Sunday afternoon, August 12, 2018
Meet at the Monocacy Battlefield National Park Visitors' Center:
4632 ARABY CHURCH ROAD
between 8:30 and 9:45 to check in, pick up a map ... and then fan out over the battlefield to a painting spot.
Roads traverse the park and lead to many locations for painting.
(Artists can arrive at anytime through the day. Please check in at 410 353-8306 to confirm you're on the grounds. The National Park Service would most appreciate a head count.)
The Battlefield Visitors' Center opens at 9am and will close atl 5pm. Facilities are located in the center. Also, check out the illuminated map upstairs in the Visitors' Center detailing how the battle develops if you have a chance.
For more information on the Monocacy Batttlefield, see Tom's article on page 9 in December 2017 edition of The Palette.
Please check in with the host at the designated meeting time and place so that they know you are there. If come early and set up to paint, or get there late, please be mindful that it is up to you to find other artists if you want to meet up with them. It is so easy to miss each other in public spaces with large or no boundaries. Thank you!
There is no rain date for this event.
