Paint the Fall Colors at Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and within the groundsundefinedthe newly acquired mansion site of the Java Plantation.

Arrangements have been made by Sally Babylon to facilitate this paint-out.

There will be opportunity to paint ruins of the historic farm, old growth forests, long vistas to the Rhode River from the wharf, rolling fields, and marshland; think Forest of Fontainebleau and the Barbizon School of landscape painting.

The Education Outreach program will offer access to the facility:

Dates: Saturday, October 16 only

Location: Smithsonian Environmental Research Center grounds, Edgewater, MD

Paint-Out Schedule

Meeting Time: 9:00 am to 12:00pm

Meeting Location: Reed Education Center parking lot for map/directions

Lunch: Brown bag lunch at the center. Drinks provided.Conversation.

Afternoon: Enjoy Center exhibits, trails, etc. or return to site to paint before closing time of 4:00pm
