This is you chance to paint history!! Star-Spangled Spectacular will feature more than 30 naval vessels and tall ships from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Germany, Spain and Turkey. The ships arrive on September 10!

The Star-Spangled Spectacular is a 10-day free festival that celebrates the 200th birthday of our national anthem. Tall ships, Navy gray hulls and the Blue Angels will come to Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor to celebrate The Star-Spangled Banner. Land-side festivals include re-enactments, a family fun-zone, live musical performances, and Chesapeake food and beverage. Events crescendo on September 13 with a star-studded patriotic concert and extraordinary fireworks display over Fort McHenry and the Baltimore harbor.

Sign up to participate in this event and you could have a chance to win some of the $1,814.00 in prize money that will be awarded to participating MAPAPA members.

From Ft McHenry along the waters edge to Federal Hill and continuing along to the Inner Harbor. Check the  www.starspangled200.org website for events that might also make good paintings. Please don’t block storefronts and pedestrian thoroughfares.

Starting Wednesday Sept 10th Tall Ships will be filing into the Inner Harbor and remain until after the 16th. Fireworks show is on the evening of the 13th Saturday.

Get registered for $20 to participate. Paint wherever and whatever as long as it reflects some aspect of the Sailabration event.

For questions concerning Parking, Events and Bathrooms, etc.  consult the www.starspangled200.org website.

We will have a line up of your work on Sunday the 14th at 12:00 p.m. at the Visitors Center outside on the concrete platform facing the Harbor. Bring extra easels if you have extra paintings. Each artist is responsible for his or her own easel(s) I would recommend frames as well. We will conduct an artists choice and peoples choice award contest at 2 p.m. Unsold work will most likely be exhibited at a later date TBD .
