PAINT HISTORIC GALESVILLE

April 16---May 9

Experience and paint the quaint village, its winding streets, boat yards and scenic coastline. Explore the surrounding southern Anne Arundel rolling hills and farm land.

This is an opportunity to paint and exhibit your plein air work at the River Gallery in Galesville.

Original plein air work can be completed at anytime during March or April of 2010, but do take the opportunity to paint with others in town on April 9, 10 and 11 (Fri., Sat. & Sun.).Paintings must be completed in the Galesville area to a distance of 2 miles out. Painting must be submitted by 4:00 on Sunday, but finished ones, ready for hanging, may be left at the gallery at any time that weekend. Also, visit the River Gallery 1000 Main St. on any Friday, Saturday or Sunday where the exhibition will be held, and meet the owners-artists Roxanne Weidele, Elsie Whitman, and Laura Dixon. They can provide you with interesting local places to paint that might have escaped your attention.

The registration fee is $25.00 and interested artists should register on-line at the MAPAPA website.

Artists may submit 2 paintings, with the second one being hung if space is available. All work should be appropriately framed and wired ready to hang.

An artist reception will be held Saturday, April 24th between 3 and 5:00pm.

The exhibition will continue until May 9, 2010.
